We have implemented barcode scanning at various stages of material movement, and can quickly locate material for shipment. We can release your material by first-in/first-out, by heat number, or by part number.

Yes, we are equipped to take on your heavyweight, oversized, or high value project. with careful, strategic planning and expert logistic handling including, but not limited to steel, metals, manufacturing, agriculture, and construction industries. Our heavy-lift capability ranges from 120- to 250-ton capacity.

Yes, our 250,000 sq. ft. of indoor climate-controlled warehouse space and 30 acres of outdoor storage available allows us to offer both short- and long-term storage solutions near Chicago. In addition, we offer inventory management.

BL Duke River Terminal is not just a barge terminal, we are a multimodal terminal. We receive material by barge, rail, flat bed, or container.

Yes, we serve as an extension of your business with our inventory management and warehousing services. Our customer portal offers you full visibility to your goods to take the guesswork out of your third party warehouse and inventory management.

We work with third party salvage companies in the area or any company that our clients require to perform salvage services on materials. For metal products, we can offer our scrap services and provide on-site weigh ticket and payment from our parent company BL Duke.

We have experience handling gondolas, box cars, flat cars, and coil cars.

We have experience with various bulk commodities, structural steel products, steel and aluminum finished goods, palletized materials, project cargo, and heavy equipment. If you have a commodity not listed here, please inquire.

Our terminal is located along the Des Plaines River on mile 289.8, or Three Rivers Terminal. The depth of our pool is 15’.

Our rail spur address is BL Duke 2 Genstar Lane Joliet, IL 60435. The switchyard is Phoenix, IL and we are directly serviced by CN on a closed spur.

We deliver up to 150 miles from our Joliet, IL facility.

We have extended flatbed trailers in our fleet to deliver over-length products.

We take careful measures to ensure that we have the appropriate permitting for heavy-haul final mile deliveries.

A back-haul implies the return trip made by a truck after delivering a load to a specified destination. The ideal back-haul would have a return shipment which can result in significant freight cost savings. We receive material into our facility Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 2:30 PM. Overtime requests outside of these hours and over weekends shall be requested in writing.
