The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has recently updated the schedule for the 2020 Illinois River closure, stating that five of eight locks will be closed starting in July 2020. We want to do our best to help you prepare. Below is a summary of the closure locations. It has been suggested by industry professionals that northbound shipments above mile marker 80 (excluding Lake Michigan area destine barges) be loaded and released as early as April 20, 2020, and barges intended for southbound shipments (excluding Lake Michigan area barges) be loaded and released no later than June 1, 2020. We strongly encourage you to work with your logistics providers to ensure that any and all specific deadlines are met. B.L.
